EUROCROWD joins discussion on energy transition for rural areas in the Mediterranean
On 21 September 2022 EUROCROWD will participate in the Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2022 taking part in an online roundtable on energy transition for remote rural areas and islands in the Mediterranean region.
The session is organised by the Interreg MED Renewable Energy Community and will gather experts from different European organisations representing different stakeholders and regions. During the session, speakers will assess strategies for the utilisation of renewable energy potentials in disadvantaged regions of the European Union using citizen-led initiatives. In this context, EUROCROWD will give an overview of the role of crowdfunding in financing energy initiatives, gathered especially from the POWERPOOR project co-finance by the European Commission. The discussion will be moderated by Cynthia Echave, Project Coordinator at Euro-Mediterranean Economist Association (EMEA).
The European Sustainable Energy Week is the biggest annual event dedicated to renewables and energy efficiency in Europe. This event comprises a series of activities aimed at building a secure energy future for Europe.
This year, the ESEW is being developed in a hybrid format and registrations are now open for both, onsite and online events. Online sessions like this roundtable offer a further opportunity to promote and engage with issues regarding renewables and energy transition in Europe.
The roundtable will take place on the EUSEW 2022 online platform. To attend the session, from 12.00 to 13.00 CEST, you can register here. Once registered and logged in, you will be able to register to attend adding the session to your own agenda for the EUSEW.
